ASK THE EXPERTS

Below is a list of names/email addresses/site addresses and any UACC information for collectors and dealers who specialize in certain areas of collecting.  I've screened these people a bit or have known some for a long time, so I feel confident in directing you to them as "experts" in their field. Each has agreed to help fellow collectors with their signature authentications.  Here are the rules/disclaimers:

1) Know that there is no such thing as a handwriting or autograph "expert", even though many may claim to be.  Even FBI handwriting "experts" get dismissed in court cases, as the science is just not considered "there" yet.

2) All opinions given are just that.  Opinions.  They will be based on the collections and in person experiences of collectors who have either have very large collections, collect in person, have a very good knowledge of autograph collecting both through the mail and in person and who take collecting seriously and have a dislike for forgeries.  These are not your average Ebay buyers; they have knowledge above and beyond the beginner and even intermediate collector.

3) Some "experts" may be dealers, so consider the opinion given to you, based on that.  The goal is to try to get an opinion without any "ulterior motive".  So if a dealer appears here, it will be annotated.  If they are a registered UACC dealer, their numbers will  be posted.  It's up to you to use common sense when selecting an expert and listening to opinions give. 

4) No COA's or official documentation will be issued.

5) This is NOT an appraisal service.  If you want your items appraised, fees may be involved; we do not know if any of these will charge for that. 

6) If any of the experts are harassed, your name and/or email will be published so that the other experts will know and decide for themselves whether they want to take your emails.  In addition, be patient as people are busy and always be polite please; they are helping you free, so rudeness won't be tolerated! 

7) If you have any complaints about an expert, please email with your concerns.  It will be taken under consideration and after a certain number of complaints, an expert may be removed. We do not remove people lightly; we need facts/proof. 

8) This site is not responsible for any opinions given by any experts.  Since no money will change hands, there is no liability.
